Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership

Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources.

  • Participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning

  • Exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others.

  • Evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning

  • Contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching professional and of their school and community

Reflections

This standard emphasizes the importance of teacher professional development. Teachers must constantly improve themselves by learning and master new professional knowledge, professional ability, and constantly learn the trend in this field and related fields in order to improve their teaching ability. Education will not stop developing, and learning is a lifetime effort. Teachers should use the time of their whole career as life-long learning. This standard also emphasizes that teachers should have educational leadership. The teachers should be able to take a role in decision making about the development of instructional technology on campus. 

The Literature review is talk about E-learning. In the previous studies, researchers focused on studying the effectiveness of e-learning or the level of e-learning in various industries, such as education, cooperation training. As E-learning is becoming a powerful and equitable substitute for traditional face-to-face learning, the need for an E-learning educational system mechanisms is necessary for facilitating instructor’s assessment of student understanding and engagement. The needs assessment is talk about canvas faculty training. Canvas is an effective online learning management system. Most instructors and professors in the institution use Canvas to create and manage their course. I demonstrated how to better use the online learning management system through the needs assessment of Canvas training. The last artifact introduces a IT Plan. The entire report detailed demonstrated how I will plan to take the training implementation plan for the online learning management system at the school -Linyi experimental School I have worked before.

Future learning goals

I think a good teacher needs to constantly promote their professional development. I will always keep the passion and confidence to learn advanced instructional technology and to learn advanced concepts of IT. Learning is endless, and lifelong learning is my consistent belief. I will develop my own beliefs about the development and design or instrucitonal technology programs, and be prepared to contribute to strategic planning of instructional technolgoy for my future institution.
