After three years working, I realized the importance of instructional technology and the idea of pursuing a Master’s degree in this field emerged into my mind. Then I took the IT 648 in Spring 2017 as a none-degree seeker. In this class, I had a better understanding of instructional technology and realized the importance of this major. Due to my increasing interest in utilizing technology in my teaching, I decided to further my study in this field. Because the extensive application of educational technology in teaching is of far-reaching significance to teaching theory, teaching method and teaching process, educational technology can better implement advanced teaching methods and improve teaching efficiency. The ability of using educational technology is the necessary component of teachers’ professional capability. The effective application of educational technology into teaching can optimize the teaching design, stimulate students' interest in the course and motivate students to learn. I believe that educational technology will be indispensable for the future of education.
